HELD SRINAGAR: In the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK), occupation forces once again placed All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest on Friday.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the authority put him under house detention to prevent him from offering the Juma prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid and other religious and social activities.
Meanwhile, the Anjuman Auqaf of the Jamia Masjid in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned his unjustified house arrest. The Anjuman Auqaf termed such actions by the authorities as unjustified, extremely regrettable and an infringement on the Mirwaiz’s religious freedom.
The Anjuman maintained that such unjustifiable actions by the Lt Governor led administration are unacceptable.
