PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Sher Afzal Marwat on Friday opposed holding negotiations in the prevailing political situation and said PTI founder Imran Khan had not issued any orders for talks.
Talking to Geo News, he clarified that though Imran Khan had set up a negotiating committee, there have been no directives to engage in discussions.Marwat said that PTI supporters were in mourning and this was not the right time for talks “At this moment, it is not suitable to hold negotiations,” he said, pointing to the frustration within the party ranks.
He warned that talk of negotiations could demoralize PTI workers, who were already disheartened by the party’s current situation.Marwat said that PTI would go ahead with the civil disobedience movement in line with the instructions given by Imran Khan. “The implementation of the civil disobedience movement will proceed according to the orders of the PTI founder,” he added.
