SBA seeks government support for World Cup participation
KARACHI: Mohammad Iqbal Bali, Secretary General of the Sindh Bodybuilding Association (SBA), announced on Tuesday that the association is awaiting financial support from the Sindh government to facilitate participation in the upcoming Men’s Bodybuilding World Cup.
“If the Sindh government fails to provide assistance, we will proceed to compete at our own expense. However, shouldering this financial burden independently will be a significant challenge,” Iqbal stated.
The 2024 IFBB World Fitness Championships & Men’s World Cup is scheduled to take place in Tokyo from December 16 to December 20. Highlighting the potential of Pakistani athletes, Iqbal said, “A few bodybuilders from Punjab and three exceptionally talented athletes from Sindh—Arsalan Malik, Zahid Kareem, and Kamran Baloch—are confident of bringing home medals.” Accompanying the team to Tokyo will be SBA officials Tariq Pervaiz and Tariq Zafar. Additionally, Mohammad Iqbal Bali will serve as a judge at this prestigious international event.
