The Rahat Kada Hospice recently hosted an event to showcase its refurbished facilities and raise awareness about its mission.
The occasion honoured the pioneer of hospice care in Pakistan, the late Dr Saira Khan, for her tireless dedication for the cause, and stressed the need for continuing her legacy.
The event was told that the Rahat Kada Hospice was the only exclusive hospice in Pakistan, a country of some 240 million people.
The current team of Rahat Kada, including Dr Sophia Khan, Dr Nadir Ahmad, Dr Zulfiqar Mir, Khizar Diwan, Shahana Diwan, Maliha Hussain, Ambreen Khanani and Mehreen Rahman, had organised the 'tea and talk' event with leading philanthropists and doctors in attendance, including Dr Bari, Mushtaq Chhapra, Aziz Memon, Jamil Yusuf, Dr Shaista, Dr Atif Waqar of the Aga Khan University Hospital, Dr Junaid Patel of the Indus Hospital, Dr Tasneem of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and Dr Nasir Ahmad.
Representatives from the Afridi foundation, Hamdard, Alamgir Trust and Savera were also present.
The purpose of the event was to thank the fraternity of doctors and philanthropists who had shown support for the cause.
