Controlling unrest govt’s responsibility
LAHORE:Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad has said it is the responsibility of the government to prevent recent incidents of terrorism and unrest and emphasised that the state must play a legal role in resolving these issues.
The speaker said this while talking to the media during his visit to Sundas Foundation, where he inquired after the patients undergoing treatment, and distributed gifts among them. Responding to a question, he remarked that dialogue is essential for establishing peace, but individuals wielding batons in the name of protests must be stopped.
Appreciating the humanitarian services of Sundas Foundation, the speaker said, “Sundas Foundation has been providing unforgettable services for thalassemia patients, and we will extend all possible support to further this noble cause.”
He announced that all members of the Punjab Assembly would donate one month’s salary to Sundas Foundation. The speaker expressed his commitment to legislating on the issue of thalassemia soon, aiming to adopt global exemplary models to prevent this disease effectively. Notable attendees at the occasion included Sohail Warraich, Khalid Abbas Dar, Sundas Foundation COO Abdul Sattar, Faisal Hameed, and Imran Mehr.
The speaker also paid tribute to the martyred soldiers of Rangers and stated that Sundas Foundation, under the leadership of Suhail Warraich and other prominent figures, is successfully carrying forward the noble cause initiated by the late Munnu Bhai.
