A total of 386 candidates appeared for the test for admissions to the University of Karachi’s (KU) Visual Studies Department on Sunday.
The two-hour long written test was held in nine examination rooms of the KU’s economics and history departments. Officials said the varsity had received 407 online admission forms for the visual studies department test against the 140 available seats in a four-year bachelors of fine arts programme, four-year bachelors of design programmme, and five-year bachelors of architecture programme.
KU Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Dean Prof Dr Shaista Tabassum, Incharge of the Directorate of Admissions Prof Dr Saima Akhter and others monitored the admission test proceedings.
Dr Saima mentioned that on the directives of KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Iraqi, the varsity had extended the last date for the submission of online forms for entry test-based admissions till today (November 11).
She said that no further extension would be offered to submit online admission forms. She said that students interested in applying for BE, BS (first year), BEd (H), BS (third year), doctor of pharmacy (morning and evening programme), and doctor of physical therapy (morning programme) could avail the opportunity of submitting online forms from 9am till 5pm.
The online admission forms, prospectus and guidelines regarding admissions policy are available at the KU website. Dr Saima shared that the admission form fee could only be submitted in cash at Bank Alfalah located at the KU’s Silver Jubilee Gate.
