Miley Cyrus welcomes new addition to Cyrus family

Miley Cyrus has welcomed a heartwarming new addition to her family— a Sulcata tortoise!
The Flowers singer took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to share the exciting news along with a reposted picture of herself with the rescue tortoise, she named "Teru."
"Welcome home Teru @wegsandwalks," Cyrus wrote below a post by Wags and Walks she shared on her stories.
In the first snap of the post, Miley can be seen feeding a yellow capsicum to the 20-year-old tortoise rescued by the non-profit organization, works to save animals.
The songstress can be seen donning a black shirt and trouser paired with black boots. She completed her look with a matching baseball cap.
The organization shared the background story of how the tortoise became Miley's companion, writing, "This past week, we welcomed our very first tortoise into rescue. Meet Teru, a 20-year-old Sulcata who found himself in the shelter system, something even our team had never seen before."
"When we heard that @mileycyrus was hoping to adopt a tortoise, we knew we had to help make the connection happen. After a little coordination, the stars aligned, and Teru officially found his forever home with Miley."
This new addition to Miley's home came after she received a star on the Walk of Fame on Friday.
