‘Enough is enough’: Gandapur pledges ‘final call’ to shut down country
KP CM expresses dissatisfaction over mistreatment of Khan and PTI workers
ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced on Saturday that a public meeting will be held on November 9 at the Swabi Interchange where the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will unveil an action plan, a “final call” to shut down the country, saying that the current situation was unbearable.
Addressing the media outside Adiala jail in Rawalpindi after meeting PTI founder Imran Khan, Gandapur expressed dissatisfaction with the treatment of Khan and condemned the government’s actions against PTI workers. “We have braved a lot of beating, and now we will come out wearing shrouds,” he said. “We will give an action plan on November 9. Enough is enough; we have faced enough beatings, while new cases are filed every day and people are arrested.”
He asserted that they would take to the streets, “clad in shrouds,” to reclaim their rights and demand the restoration of Constitution’s supremacy.
Before Gandapur’s announcement, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja revealed plans for a nationwide protest movement against the 26th Constitutional Amendment, describing it as an “attack on the Constitution of Pakistan and the judiciary”.
