Fostering Future Leaders: Punjab ACE DG engages law students in ‘dialogue on ethical governance’
LAHORE : The Director General of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab Sohail Zafar Chattha hosted a significant briefing at the Anti-Corruption Headquarters, engaging law students from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). This session aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the legal and institutional frameworks essential for combating corruption in the province.
In his address, the Director General, who is from Police Service of Pakistan outlined key government measures designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and integrity within public service. He highlighted the ACE’s critical role in promoting ethical governance and underscored the importance of addressing the needs of marginalised communities, including women, children, the elderly, and minorities. He advocated for a compassionate approach that extends beyond institutional reforms, stressing that true progress in anti-corruption efforts requires the empowerment and support of all societal segments.
Moreover, Sohail Zafar Chattha expressed a strong commitment to cultivating a culture of decency and civility within anti-corruption operations, emphasising that public institutions should serve the community rather than be used as political tools. This vision aims to establish a principled approach to effectively tackle corruption.
The session provided an interactive platform for students, who posed insightful questions about the challenges and opportunities present in Pakistan’s anti-corruption landscape. The initiative aims to nurture a generation of legal professionals dedicated to justice, integrity, and societal welfare.
