Progress on highways’ patchwork reviewed

LAHORE : LDA and TEPA teams, on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, were actively working for patchwork on important highways.

LDA DG Tahir Farooq chaired a progress review meeting over this issue and said LDA's steps were going on to make the provincial capital a livable city. In the meeting, Chief Engineer LDA Asrar Saeed and Project Director presented the progress report. The work of clearing 95 roads of the provincial capital from pits, potholes was in progress. LDA teams were working day and night on 48 out of 62 roads, Asrar Saeed said adding TEPA teams were working on 12 out of 33 roads. He added that LDA and Tepa teams worked on patchwork and potholes at more than 2100 places in total and cleared 160 km of highways with patches.

Tahir Farooq directed to carry out the patchwork work on the remaining roads as soon as possible and geo-tagging of all the patchwork works should be ensured.

LDA DG directed that a third party report on the quality of patchwork works should be made. Eco-friendly color was being done around the entrance and outside of all U-turns and underpasses around Canal Road and painting and improvement of fencing and curb stones along the Canal road should be completed.
