Cultural programmes to be part of Lahore Youth Festival
LAHORE: Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial and Commissioner Lahore Division Zaid bin Maqsood chaired a meeting regarding Lahore Youth Festival at Punjab Stadium here on Friday.
The arrangements of Lahore Youth Festival were reviewed thoroughly in the meeting. The officers of PHA, LDA, Food, Police and Information Department participated in the meeting. Director Admin Dr Kaleem, Additional Commissioner M Jafar and Additional Secretary Information Awais Nawaz, Syed Shafqat Ali, Malik Ghulam Fareed were also present in the meeting.
Commissioner Lahore Zaid Bin Maqsood took a detailed briefing from all the departments about the arrangements of the festival. Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial said that the Lahore Youth Festival competitions would be held from November 7-9. ‘The female trials of various games will be held from October 24 to 26, while the male trials will be conducted from November 28 to 30.’
Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial informed that the competitions of marathon, cycling and other games will also be held in the festival. The Lahore Youth Festival logo float visited 26 universities of the provincial capital. Commissioner Lahore Zaid bin Maqsood said that Lahore Youth Festival is important for the culture and tradition of provincial capital. Best arrangements are being made for the smooth organisation of the festival, he added. He informed that Lahore Youth Festival will have several other cultural programmes, including sports.
