Khalid Maqbool terms youth asset to country
HYDERABAD: Addressing the participants of the Youth Convention held at Mustafa Ground in Hyderabad on Friday, MQM-Pakistan Chairman Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said today the country's valuable asset, the youth, is here.
He said gathering the youth today is not in the context of our political but national necessity. He said the world is going to change in the next ten years, and young people have to take the right direction of history, face the changing world, and benefit the country and the nation by giving girls education.
Siddiqui said that today is the time to stand with a national thought, and tonight seems to have paved the way for revolution in the country.
Senior leader and Member of the National Assembly Syed Mustafa Kamal said that at present the quota system in its worst form is on our heads, and in order to abolish it, the MQM has spread the idea of self-reliance.
He said that now every trained boy and girl can earn thousands of dollars sitting at home regardless of race, and all these measures have proved that the MQM is the only representative party of the youth and a ray of hope for them.
He further said that they were asking for local government powers, but the authorities did not give them, keeping in mind that the MQM supported the idea of the ruling party to form new administrative provinces in the country.
Senior leader and Member of the National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar said that Hyderabad deserves congratulations for the successful youth convention. The history that has been made here today has reminded us of Jamia Aligarh, he said, adding htat Hyderabad has stood by the MQM in every difficult time and has shown great perseverance.
He said that by responding to the call of the MQM, the youth of Hyderabad have given a toothless response to “the economic killers through the quota system”. He further said that the energy of the youth present at Mustafa Ground will soon create an economic revolution in the country. It is time to hand over the reins of the country into the hands of the youth of Hyderabad.
Sattar said the promotion of self-reliance is the need of the hour so that the need to be dragged before the IMF is eliminated. He said the local products of Hyderabad will be introduced worldwide with the use of modern technology.
He said the markets of the world are waiting for the youth, and the time is not far when Karachi and Hyderabad together will perform the important task of saving and building this country.
The convention was attended by a large number of students from the city's educational institutions and technology sector.
