KARACHI: Shan Foods, a leading culinary brand and one of the market leaders in Pakistan and the UAE, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art production facility as part of its strategic partnership with Symrise, a global leader in taste, nutrition and health.
This partnership, which began in April 2023, marks an industry-first collaboration aimed at shaping the future of food innovation for consumers in Pakistan.
The new production facility, designed to international standards, is located at Shan Foods’ headquarters in Karachi. It is the first of its kind in the region and has been built to develop and commercialize innovative food products that cater to the growing Pakistani market.
With a population of nearly 250 million, Pakistan’s food industry is experiencing rapid growth, driven by an increasingly urbanized and youthful consumer base. Key trends in the market include a demand for convenience, authentic taste and health-conscious products.
The facility’s powder blending manufacturing setup reflects Shan Foods and Symrise’s commitment to promoting locally made food solutions. By reducing dependence on imported raw materials, the facility aims to deliver high-quality, locally sourced products for both domestic and global markets.
Sammer Sultan, co-chairperson at Shan Foods, emphasized the significance of the new facility, stating, “This marks a major step forward in enhancing local production, reducing reliance on imports, and creating new job opportunities. It is a testament to our commitment to sustainable growth and Pakistan’s vibrant food industry.”
The partnership between Shan Foods and Symrise also aims to tap into international markets, with a particular focus on the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Symrise, which has a strong presence in the Middle East and Pakistan, sees this collaboration as a key step in delivering innovative and sustainable food products that meet the evolving needs of consumers.
Country Head – Pakistan at Symrise Raheel Qadri added, “This facility represents a new chapter in our partnership, helping us bring high-quality, locally produced products to market with speed and efficiency.”
