Ghazanfar to play semifinal despite father’s death

ISLAMABAD: National hockey team member Ghazanfar Ali will stay in China to represent Pakistan even after he received the shocking news of his father’s death back home.
His father died Sunday morning in a village near Kasur.
Team management gave Ghazanfar the option to return home which he declined saying that his country needs him most. Ghazanfar will represent Pakistan in the Asian Champions Trophy Hockey semi-finals against China on Monday (today). The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Tariq Bugti and Secretary Rana Mujahid expressed their condolence on the sad demise of Ghazanfar’s father while team management in China offered Fatiah and prayers for the departed soul.
