COAS vows to crush terror, lauds troops’ morale
COAS visited troops in Orakzai District on Friday who participated in operations in Tirah Valley
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has reiterated his commitment to comprehensively defeating the hostile terrorist nexus and eliminating illegal activities.
The COAS visited troops in the Orakzai District on Friday who had recently participated in counter-terrorism operations in the Tirah Valley and surrounding areas.During the visit, General Munir received a detailed briefing on the overall security situation, the ongoing intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations, and the multi-pronged efforts to ensure stability in the merged districts.In his interaction with the officers and troops, General Munir praised their high morale and readiness to respond effectively to all types of threats. He paid rich tribute to the army’s martyrs and veterans, as well as to members of the law enforcement agencies (LEAs).
The COAS emphasised that the hard-earned peace, achieved through the nation’s great sacrifices, would be maintained at all costs.”Our martyrs’ sacrifices strengthen our resolve to fight with the utmost dedication and the spirit of sacrifice,” he said.General Munir also lauded the contributions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and LEAs, assuring that the Pakistan Army would continue to provide full support to the police and other LEAs in enabling them to carry out their duties in the newly merged districts. He stressed the importance of continued capacity building for the LEAs.
The COAS appreciated the local population’s support in assisting security forces, saying their positive role is crucial in maintaining peace in the region.Earlier, upon his arrival, General Munir laid a wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and was received by the Peshawar corps commander.
