MNA Javaid Iqbal elected chairman of NA panel on defence production
Newly elected chairman expressed his gratitude to committee members for reposing confidence and assured that he would run business of committee with consensus
ISLAMABAD: The Members of the National Assembly (MNA) Standing Committee on Defence Production, unanimously elected MNA Javaid Iqbal as Chairman of the committee at a meeting held here at Parliament House on Thursday.
The newly elected chairman expressed his gratitude to committee members for reposing confidence and assured that he would run business of the committee with consensus.
Asad Alam Niazi proposed name of Javaid Iqbal as candidate for chairmanship of the committee while Ali Zahid seconded his candidature.
The committee members, while appreciating remarks of the chairman, assured him of their full support in the process of legislation. Acting Secretary of National Assembly, Muhammad Mushtaq, Additional Secretary (Committees) Syed Jawad Murtaza Naqvi and Joint Secretary Syed Haseen Raza Zaidi conducted elections.
Acting Secretary congratulated Javaid Iqbal on his election as committee chairman on behalf of Speaker and Deputy Speaker and assured Assembly Secretariat’s support in effective functioning of the forum.
MNAs Ali Zahid, Muhammad Khan Daha, Ms. Nuzhat Sadiq, Muhammad Shahryar Khan, Syed Murtaza Mahmud, Asad Alam Niazi, Muhammad Nawaz Khan, Fazal Muhammad Khan, Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel and Javed Iqbal attended the meeting. Chief Whip of Opposition Malik Aamir Dogar MNA was also present on the occasion.
