Bus accident on Dera Bypass claims two lives, injures 19
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A passenger bus carrying passengers from Kohat to Quetta via Dera Ismail Khan met with an accident near Mufti Mahmood Chowk on Dera Bypass, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to 19 others, including women and children.
According to a report from Rescue 1122, the bus (BL6156) collided with a trailer near Mufti Mahmood Chowk in the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station. The deceased were identified as Noor Shaf Ali, 60, and Zulqarnain Bangash, 25, both from Kohat.
The injured included Sajawal Khan, 39; Asim Raza, 22; Raza Hassan, 25; Muhammad Shabeer, 55; Kaneez Batool, 50; Sabeela Bibi; Muhammad Ali Bangash, 13; Liaquat Ali, 70; Zakhuda Jan, 50; and Azmat, 33.
The Rescue 1122 teams provided initial medical aid and transported the injured to the hospital.
The accident severely damaged the bus. Funeral prayers for the deceased were held at Kotli Imam Hussain. A case has been registered at Police Station Saddar based on the report of Mureed Hussain Bangash, a resident of Kohat who was injured in the accident.The victims were reportedly from the Shiite pilgrims travelling to Iran and Iraq.
