Cop martyred in Charsadda firing
CHARSADDA: Unidentified gunmen martyred an official of the Special Branch Police in the limits of Khanmahi Police Station on Saturday.
Asmat Khan, an Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Special Branch Police in Charsadda, was going for duty when armed men opened fire on him near Shakh No. 6, in the jurisdiction of Khanmahi police station.
He sustained multiple bullet injuries and embraced martyrdom on the spot.Later, funeral prayer for the slain cop was offered at the Police Lines in Charsadda, which was attended by Regional Police Officer Najibur Rahman, District Police Officer Masood Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner Qaiser Khan and police officers and a large number of people.He was later laid to rest with state honours in his native village, Zaim, in Umarzai.
