ISLAMABAD: The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) delivered the first consignment of mangoes in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) in a record period of six days.
Export of mangoes to Central Asian States is an important milestone for country’s agriculture sector. The NLC used special container to maintain a particular temperature and keep mangoes fresh.
The refrigerated truck containing 15 tonnes of mangoes, travelled 2,500 kilometres from Hyderabad to Tashkent and successfully reached the destination in record period of six days.
The mangoes supplied to Tashkent were processed according to the international standards. Previously, the NLC had successfully supplied kinnow and vegetable to Tashkent. The National Logistics Corporation, previously known as National Logistic Cell, has been helping exporters to reach new international markets.
Owing to the NLC service to deliver fruits and agricultural products, the country could earn considerable foreign exchange.
