TLP protests SC decision in Mubarak Sani case
PESHAWAR: The activists of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on Sunday staged rallies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against the Supreme Court’s decision in Mubarak Sani case.
In the provincial capital, the protesters gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club. They were carrying banners and placards in support of their demand. Speaking on the occasion, the leader demanded the Supreme Court to revisit its decision.
In Batkhela, the local leaders and workers of TLP also staged a protest rally. The rally, led by Khadimur Rasool Al-Qadri, Nazim Muhammad Adil, Maualna Muhammad Iqbal Asghari, Maualna Fazal Ghafoor and others, started from nearby Thana town and culminated outside the Malakand Press Club in Batkhela.
Addressing the rally, the speakers said that the decision should be withdrawn, otherwise, they would not only own constitutional options against the decision, but would also resist it tooth and nail.
They advised the government and the judiciary to avoid supporting the Ahmadi community, urging the apex court to reverse the verdict delivered in this specific case. They said the apex court judgment had hurt the sentiments of the entire nation.
They said the party would take a legal course if the verdict was not reversed. They pledged that they were ready to render any sacrifice for the protection and sanctity of Islam and the finality of Prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him).
In Nowshera, led by TLP leader Mufti Sanaullah, the protesters marched from Taru Jabba area and reached Pabbi Bazaar where they staged a large gathering. They condemned the decision, asserting that it grants undue freedom to the members of the Ahmadiyya community.
The protest also resulted in the blockage of GT Road, causing a traffic jam. Mufti Sanaullah stated that the Supreme Court’s decision is unacceptable to the followers of Islam and the people of Pakistan, as it allows Ahmadiyya community members to propagate their faith.
