11 of a family fall ill after consuming tainted milk
LAHORE:Eleven members of a family, including minors, fell ill after consuming contaminated milk in Shahdara Town on Sunday.
Among those affected were Sajjad, Akbar, Asad Akbar, Malaika Akbar, Raya Akbar, Parveen Akbar, Shamaila Akbar, Aqsa Akbar, Manahil Akbar, Ayesha, M Ali, and Rashid. While the majority received first aid and were discharged from the hospital, three children and Sajjad were admitted for further treatment. The incident has caught the attention of the Provincial Food Minister, who has taken notice of the situation.
Two held for torturing woman, son
Police have arrested two suspects identified as Tariq and Waqar for allegedly torturing a woman and her son in the Kahna area after a video of the torture went viral on social media. The incident stirred a widespread outrage and prompted swift police action. The ordeal unfolded when young Hamad was allegedly subjected to torture by neighbours for reasons that remain unclear. Disturbed by her son's mistreatment, Hamad's mother, accompanied by some residents, visited the home of the accused, Tariq and Waqar, to address the issue. Tariq and Waqar armed with an iron rod brutally assaulted the woman, causing severe injuries. Upon the circulation of the distressing footage, the police apprehended Tariq and Waqar, promptly registering a case against them under relevant sections of the law.
Girl recovered; kidnapper arrested
Kidnapping for ransom cell of Lahore police recovered a kidnapped girl from Satellite Town of Jhang District. A 22-year-old Iram of Jhang was abducted from Sabzazar, Lahore a few weeks ago. The hostage was safely recovered and the kidnapper was arrested.
Three found dead
Three persons were found dead from different parts of the City on Sunday. A 35-year-old drug addict was recovered dead from the limits of Liaqatabad police and a 42-year-old man was found dead on the footpath near Ali Razabad, in the jurisdiction of Chowki Sher Shah police. Meanwhile, a 65-year-old man was found dead on Barki Road, in the limits of Defence C police.
