Nazir Dhoki, a dedicated and ideological PPP worker, who faced worst dictatorship of General Ziaul Haq in 80’s
ISLAMABAD: Chief Media Coordinator of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Nazir Dhoki passed away on Sunday after prolonged lungs cancer.
He had been getting medical treatment at Gambat hospital for last three months in a fight against lungs cancer.
Nazir Dhoki, a dedicated and ideological PPP worker, who faced worst dictatorship of General Ziaul Haq in 80’s, remained in jail for the restoration of democracy in the country and had served the Media Coordinator of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto during 80s till her martyrdom in 2007 and then continued to serve the media cell of PPP and also as the Chief Media Coordinator of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
He served the media coordinator of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto under the media head of PPP Farhatullah Babar in the 90’s when the political polarization between the PPP and PMLN was on peak and also at a time when Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was in exile and officiating his duties directly under Shaheed Benazir Bhutto till her martyrdom in Rawalpindi.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of his Chief Media Coordinator Nazir Dhoki. Taking the ‘X’ to express his views on the death of Nazir Dhoki, Bilawal said he was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my chief media coordinator, Nazir Dhoki. “A lifelong jiyala, he served the PPP with diligence, loyalty, and unquestionable commitment. The party is poorer for his loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, colleagues, and friends. May we all find the strength to bear this monumental loss.”
While in a statement separately, Bilawal lauded Nazir Dhoki’s dedicated service and unwavering commitment to Bhuttoism. He highlighted that as a columnist, the late Nazir Dhoki boldly exposed the adversaries of democracy to the world.
He furthered that despite facing the hardships of imprisonment during his political journey, Nazir Dhoki’s democratic principles remained steadfast. Bilawal emphasized that Nazir Dhoki was a loyal and true worker of the late Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and stood by him through every challenging moment. “The legacy of Nazir Dhoki’s dedication and resilience will always be remembered,” he said.
President Zardari on Sunday expressed his deep grief and sorrow over demise of PPP Media Coordinator Nazir Hussain Dhoki.
The president prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and for the bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
President Zardari also paid tribute to services of late Dhoki for PPP.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, while expressing her grief over the death of Nazir Dhoki, said an incomparable loss for us all. “Nazir Dhoki Sahib was our unshakable support. A jiyala all his life, his services for the Pakistan People’s Party were selfless and enduring. His is a loss we will feel for years to come. I pray that Allah grants his family and the party the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
