Captain, 3 soldiers martyred in NW, SW clashes
Four soldiers of Pak Army were martyred in a fire exchange between security forces and terrorists in South Waziristan district
RAWALPINDI: A young officer of Pakistan Army, while leading his troops from the front, was martyred while two terrorists were also killed in a fire exchange that took place between security forces and terrorists in North Waziristan district on Tuesday. Also, four soldiers of Pak Army were martyred in a fire exchange which took place between security forces and terrorists in South Waziristan district.
In the North Waziristan district, during a fierce engagement, Pak Army troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, as result of which two terrorists were sent to hell. However, during the intense exchange of fire, leading his troops from the front, Captain Muhammad Osama bin Arshad (age: 24 years, resident of Rawalpindi District), having fought gallantly, made the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat.
Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area. Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said.
Meanwhile, funeral prayers of Captain Muhammad Osama Bin Arshad Shaheed were offered in Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and a large number of serving and retired military officers, soldiers and relatives of Shaheed attended the funeral.
On the occasion, the PM remarked that these sacrifices reaffirm nation’s resolve to defeat terrorism in all its forms for a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan. He said the nation stands resolute against these foreign-abetted terrorists and their facilitators and these adversaries of Pakistan will be comprehensively defeated through a multi-domain strategy based on whole-of-the-system approach, InshaAllah.
Meanwhile, the prime minister Tuesday expressed his deep grief over the martyrdom of Captain Osama Bin Arshad. He prayed for spiritual elevation of the martyred captain’s soul and granting strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss. “The war against terrorists will continue till elimination of terrorism in toto. The whole nation salutes the soldiers staying strong to thwart the nefarious designs of terrorists,” he remarked. The Shaheed will be buried in his hometown where he will be laid to rest with full military honours. During an intense exchange of fire, three brave soldiers Sepoy Asad Ullah (age: 30 years, resident of Mitiari District), Sepoy Muhammad Sufyan (age: 28 years, resident of DI Khan District) and Non Combatant Bearer Zain Ali (age: 24 years, resident of Bahwalnagar District), having fought gallantly, embraced Shahadat.
