Smuggled crockery seized

Personnel of the Pakistan Customs Enforcement Karachi on Tuesday raided a godown and seized Iranian crockery worth Rs30 million.

Syed Irfan Ali, a spokesman for the Customs, said that in line with the Government of Pakistan’s policy against smuggled goods and based on credible information received by the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Karachi, a team conducted a raid on a godown at SITE Area near Nauras Chowrangi.

As a result, a huge quantity of 18 tons of Iranian-origin crockery worth Rs30 million wasrecovered from the godown. The goods were loaded onto 10 trucks and shifted to the collectorate’s warehouse for detailed examination and further legal proceedings.
