RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Navy has deployed warship PNS ASLAT on regional maritime security patrol in the Indian Ocean.
PNS ASLAT would ensure the safety of merchant ships entering and leaving Pakistani ports with dedicated helicopters, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement here on Saturday.
The ship is equipped with the latest weapons and sensors and is capable of dealing with multi-dimensional threats, conducting a wide range of maritime operations.
The ship deployment is also aimed at ensuring the safety of international shipping.
During the deployment, it will participate in joint operations with partner countries in addition to its own operations. It will also visit regional ports under the principle of maritime diplomacy.
