Mayor distributes relief items among flood victims
PESHAWAR: Mayor Capital Metropolitan Government has provided relief items and cash to the affected families in the flood affected areas in the provincial capital.
Mayor Zubair Ali visited Sardar Ahmad Jan Colony, Essakhel, Landay Sarak, Maqsoodabad, Larrama, Top Chian and Tauhidabad and met with the affected families.He distributed food items, drinking water, medicines and cash support to the affected families. He also inquired about the losses by these families.
Officials of the Capital Metropolitan Government and medical teams also accompanied the mayor.Zubair Ali asked the people to avoid photo sessions with the affected people and provide real support to them in these testing times. He also requested the provincial government to take immediate steps to provide timely support to the flood affected families. He said that the metropolitan government would provide every possible support but the provincial government should also come forward and extend financial support to these families.
Zubair Ali said that he was happy that he initiated the relief activities in the flood- affected localities in Peshawar. He also appealed Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to help the flood victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that Shehbaz Sharif had provided relief to the flood victims in the past on his request and now he also expected similar support from the incumbent government. He also appealed to the well-off people and business community to come forward and support the affected people.
