Peaceful struggle for enforcement of Shariah to continue, claims Sami
NOWSHERA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq on Thursday vowed to enforce Shariah in the country through peaceful struggle. He was speaking at a ceremony at Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak, Samiul Haq said the country came into existence in the name of Islam and the people wouldn’t allow use of its soil for liberal and secular motives of US and Western countries. “We will enforce Islamic law in the country through peaceful struggle,” he maintained.
He said the country would not have experienced the bloodshed and sectarianism had Shariah been implemented in the country after its independence. Expressing his disappointment over what he called the cold shoulder response and silence of the rulers over the challenges confronting the country, the Maulana said that the country was facing worse challenges of its history but the rulers were busy enjoying foreign trips.
He said the country could not afford internal fights. He added that the anti-Muslim forces had united against Islam and Muslims. “This challenge can only be met by forging unity,” the JUI-S chief maintained.
He said Islam is the religion of peace and harmony and urged the religious scholars and seminary students to present the soft image of Islam to the world. More than 1500 students were awarded degrees on the occasion.
