LAHORE: A 28-year-old man died when a speeding bus hit his bike in the limits of Shafiqabad police on Sunday.
According to the police, the accident occurred due to over-speeding. The victim was identified as Babar, a resident of Shahdara. The victim was on his way when a rashly-driven bus hit him, resulting in his instant death. Edhi volunteers shifted the body to the mortuary.
27,254 emergencies responded in four days
Rescue 1122 Emergency Ambulance, Rescue and Fire Services, Motorbike Rescue Service responded to 27,254 emergencies in all districts of Punjab during four Eid holidays.
This was stated by the Secretary Emergency Services Department, Punjab while chairing virtual meeting with all Divisional & District Emergency Officers, held at Emergency Services Headquarters, Thoker Niaz Baig, here. He briefed that Rescue 1122 responded to emergencies in Punjab during the Eid holidays, out of which, 7,636 road traffic accidents with 43 deaths, 16,398 medical emergencies with 543 deaths, 693 crime incidents, 505 fire emergencies, 527 delivery emergencies, 524 falls and slipping cases, 111 animal rescue, and 1,481 miscellaneous emergencies operations were performed.
