LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has formed a 6-member Joint Inquiry Team (JIT) to investigate the Bahawalnagar incident.
The convener of JIT will be Special Secretary Interior Atta-ur-Rehman. Other members include commissioner Bahawalpur Division, DIG Special Branch Punjab and officers of ISI, Military Intelligence and Intelligence Bureau.
The JIT will probe the police raid in Bahawalnagar at the house of one Rafaqat on April 8. The team will also investigate similar incidents on April 9 and 10.
The TORs of JIT have been approved which include: to find out circumstances under which the police party raided the house of Rafaqat; to find out circumstances under which other such incidents took place; to make recommendations that would help stop such incidents in the future.
Chief Secretary Punjab, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, IG Police, Sector Commander ISI, Sector Commander Military Intelligence, Joint Director General Intelligence Bureau (Punjab) and others concerned have been informed about the formation of JIT.
