Govt urged to notify Tanawal as district

MANSEHRA: The people of Pulrah and its adjoining localities on Tuesday demanded the government to notify Tanawal a separate district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.“We want the government to notify Tanawal as a district,” Riaz Ahmad Tanoli told reporters.

Flanked by a group of locals, he said that the people of Tanawal settled in Mansehra, Abbottabad and Haripur districts were struggling for their rights since long.“The government should honour our peaceful struggle and declare Tanawal a separate district of Hazara division as we have been settled here for centuries,” Tanoli said.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Razzaq said the government should declare Tanawal a district as they were still deprived of the basic amenities and development.“The people of defunct Amb and Pulrah states have been struggling peacefully for Tanawal district for a long time and the government should respect their demand and notify these two preparation states as a separate district of the province,” he added.
