RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed 12 terrorists in three intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
On April 5, the security forces conducted an IBO in Dera Ismail Khan on the reported presence of terrorists. After an intense fire exchange, eight terrorists were sent to hell. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from them. Locals have appreciated the operation.
A sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist in the area as the security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
On the night of Friday and Saturday, the security forces conducted an IBO in Panjgur, Balochistan. After an intense fire exchange, two terrorists including Asad alias Hasrat were sent to hell. A cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was recovered.
The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against the security forces and target-killing of innocent civilians.
The security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts of sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan, the ISPR said.
