PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has sent another summary to the federal government comprising names of three civil servants for appointing one of them as the chief secretary of the province.
They included Shahab Ali Shah, Shahzad Bangash and Captain (retried) Munir Azam. Gandapur had earlier sent a summary to the federal government in which he mentioned only one name, Shahab Ali Shah to be appointed as chief secretary.
The federal government had then returned the summary and advised the chief minister to fulfil codal formalities and send three names in the summary. Shahab Ali Shah has previously served as additional chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and had good working relations with the government and the then chief minister Mahmood Khan. He had held key positions in the past, and remained commissioner Peshawar, political agent of then Khyber Agency.
Dr Shahzad Bangash has also served as chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last PTI government.
Similarly, Munir Azam is also a senior civil servant and held various important administrative positions in the past. According to sources, Ali Amin Gandapur had also demanded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appoint Shahab Ali Shah as the chief secretary when he called on him in Islamabad a few days ago.
