Ramazan handouts distributed among flood-hit families in Charsadda
CHARSADDA: Over 500 households affected by recent rains and floods in the district have received Ramazan food packages from a relief organisation, Qatar Charity.
Sajjad Khan, the coordinator of the organisation, stated that a series of initiatives had been initiated to collaborate with families affected by the recent rains. He said the package contains essential items such as 15kg flour, ghee, lentils, rice, and other basic food items.
He said thousands of affected individuals in Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, and Charsadda districts will receive Ramazan food packages.
The relief organisation is also focused on establishing small-scale domestic employment opportunities for affected women, aiming to make them financially stable and self-reliant within their homes. The initiative includes tailoring, cutting, small shops, and poultry farming, etc. So far, more than 200 such opportunities have been initiated in Charsadda, while further surveys are being conducted to benefit more women from theprogramme.
Moreover, the men and women benefiting from the Qatar Charity have expressed their gratitude for the support extended to them during these trying times.
