ISLAMABAD: On the request of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a notice to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) over not uploading Form 45 and Form 47, which are related to the results of the general elections, on the ECP website, seeking a reply by next week.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the MWM’s petition against the ECP not uploading Form 45 and Form 47 on the ECP website. The petitioner’s counsel Iman Mazari appeared before the court and said the elections were held on February 8, but the relevant documents had not been uploaded on the ECP website.
After the chief justice sought clarification as to what documents she was referring to, the counsel said the forms issued by the presiding officers had to be uploaded on the ECP website.
Mazari said that under the election laws, the election result forms and the related documents have to be uploaded on the ECP website within 14 days. She said the ECP uploaded Form 45 to some extent, but then removed it. The court adjourned the hearing after issuing notices to the parties.
