Hassan Murtaza hails SC verdict
LAHORE: In a significant turn of events, Hassan Murtaza, the General Secretary of PPP Central Punjab, has hailed the Supreme Court's decision on the Bhutto Shaheed Reference, terming it a landmark ruling.
Murtaza described it as a momentous day in Pakistan's history, emphasising that this decision would revive the legacy of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto after four decades. He expressed that this day would be etched as an emotional milestone for PPP supporters.
Expressing disappointment over the delayed justice, Murtaza lamented the continued impunity of those responsible for Bhutto's judicial execution, asserting their perpetual disgrace in this world and the hereafter.
Furthermore, Murtaza underscored the Supreme Court's indictment of trial and appeal judges involved in the Bhutto case, lamenting the irony of justice being served to the grandson rather than the grandfather.
Murtaza extended gratitude to former President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto for initiating the presidential reference, acknowledging its pivotal role in seeking justice for Bhutto Shaheed. Secretary Records and Events Central Punjab, Syed Ahsan Rizvi, said that the Supreme Court's decision in the Bhutto Shaheed Reference would be remembered in golden letters. He further remarked that those responsible for the judicial killing of Bhutto would feel ashamed today.
