Ramazan Nigehban programme: CM orders provision of high quality items
LAHORE: ‘The process of delivering your right to your doorsteps has begun,’ said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz while chairing a meeting on transparent distribution and monitoring of Ramazan relief packages under Ramazan Nigehban Relief Programme here on Tuesday.
Earlier, the chief minister was briefed by the authorities concerned that a foolproof system has been developed to ensure transparent distribution of the largest Ramazan relief package to the beneficiaries.
The distribution was being monitored with the help of a live dashboard and advanced technology. A helpline has been set up which will be formally launched today (Wednesday). Beneficiaries will be able to register complaints through the helpline.
The chief minister was apprised that data about NADRA and BISP beneficiaries was being used for the distribution of Ramazan Nigehban relief package. It was further briefed that the distribution of Ramazan relief package would officially start from 2nd of Ramazan and would be completed by 10th of Ramazan.
For the first time in the history of Punjab, Ramazan package was being delivered to every deserving person's home. Maryam Nawaz directed to ensure high quality of Ramazan package items.
Announces ‘Apni Chhat-Apna Ghar’ programme
The CM said that the Punjab government would definitely fulfill its promise of providing roof to low income strata of society.
She stated this while chairing a meeting in connection with ‘Apni Chhat-Apna Ghar’ programme in Punjab. Under the programme, more than 3,000 housing units will be built for low income people in every district of Punjab. The chief minister called for a comprehensive plan to complete the construction of one lakh houses, and directed to keep the down payment and monthly installments within minimum possible limits. She directed to prepare a model house within six weeks. Maryam Nawaz directed the authorities concerned to ensure best quality and sustainability in the construction of prefabricated houses.
Orders using AI for detecting traffic violations
‘Artificial Intelligence technology should be used for effective enforcement of traffic rules,’ said the CM while chairing a meeting on streamlining flow of traffic in City. She directed to immediately remove temporary encroachments on 31 places, to carry out effective road engineering and designing on 82 locations, and to repair and rehabilitate roads on 28 places in City to improve flow of traffic. She also directed to install tyre killers at 88 places in the city to prevent violation of one way.
The CM also directed to install digital screens to display warning messages in case of traffic jam on roads. She directed not to remove carts of poor persons from roads, rather a line should be drawn to place the carts.
Earlier, CTO Amara Azhar briefed the CM that an e-challan service would be introduced using Safe City cameras for not wearing helmets on motorbikes and seatbelts in vehicles.
Takes notice of fire
The CM took notice of an incident of burning of four workers in a factory located on Pansara Road in Gojra. She sought a report from the IGP, and directed to provide the best possible medical facilities to the injured workers. She also directed the authorities concerned to take strict action against all factory owners who are not following the prescribed safety measures.
