LAHORE: Urdu Science Board (USB) organised a lecture titled “Importance and Need of Translation” on Monday. The lecture was delivered by Prof Dr Fakharul Haq Noori, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Minhaj University.
Addressing the participants, Fakhar said: “The translation plays an important role in the transfer of knowledge from one language to another. Through this process, we get awareness about science, technology, literature, civilisation and ideas in the languages of other nations.” Fakhar said, “Translation is also important in terms of religious and history studies. Toru said the board had translated the best science books from different languages of the world, which became very popular among readers.
