Scores of JI activists participated in the protests staged across the city after the Friday prayers. The protestors carried placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the Election Commission of Pakistan and others responsible for what they said issuance of false results of the polls.

Addressing a protest demonstration on Abul Hasan Ispahani road, Karachi JI Deputy Emir Osama bin Razi said the people of Karachi gave their mandate to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and JI in the general elections but the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan was imposed on them despite the fact that the people of the city had clearly rejected the party. He said the MQM-P was blessed with 25 seats in the polls, whereas it hardly bagged a few thousand votes.
