Shujaat holds ‘non-political’ meeting with Elahi in Adiala jail
“There was no discussion on political situation in the meeting,” added the spokesman
ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and president Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PMLQ) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain visited the Adiala Jail on Thursday to meet his younger cousin and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.
Ch Shujaat was accompanied by his sons, Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, and his brother Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain and Muntaha Ashraf during the meeting in jail. According to the spokesman of PMLQ Ghulam Mustafa Malik, the meeting was completely non-political and it was wrong to give a political colour to the meeting. “There was no discussion on political situation in the meeting,” added the spokesman.
He said Ch Shujaat and Parvez Elahi have a very affectionate relationship. The spokesman said the meeting took place according to family traditions as Shujaat and his family were concerned about the health of Parvez Elahi.
Meanwhile, according to sources, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain played a role in the family reunion and was making efforts to reunite the family.
