ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court was Monday requested to declare Feb 8 general elections null and void and order fresh elections under judicial supervision.
Ex-brigadier Ali Khan petitioned the apex court under Article 184(3) of the Constitution making the government and chief election commissioner (CEC) as respondents. The petitioner prayed that the government formation, based on the election results, be stayed till adjudication of the petition.
He further prayed the apex court to order immediate fresh elections within 30 days under direct judicial supervision to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in the electoral process.
The petitioner also sought a thorough and impartial investigation into the pre-poll rigging, election fraud, and misconduct, and hold accountable those responsible for undermining the country’s democratic foundations.
