Asad Abbasi elected as member of JCP

Rawalpindi: Member Punjab Bar Council Asad Abbasi Advocate from Rawalpindi nominated by Asma Jhangir Group has been elected as a member of Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) for two years, says a press release.
His election was effected at a meeting of the Bar Council held in Lahore on Saturday.
Asad Abbasi, in his statement, thanked members of the Pakistan Bar Council, and Punjab Bar Council and reiterated his commitment that he will play his full role for an independent judiciary and transparency in appointments to the judiciary. Steps to improve the justice system and provide justice to the common man will be his first priority.
