‘228 beds provided at 40 heat stroke emergency centres’

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has given 228 beds in 40 emergency medical centres established by the KMC and the DMCs in different areas of the city to provide immediate first aid and medical treatment to the heat stroke patients.

According to a press release issued on Friday, more beds will be arranged for patients and necessary facilities, including providing medicines and equipments along with availability of doctors and paramedics, have been ensured in these centres.

KMC Administrator Laeeq Ahmed said the government had made even better arrangements in the light of previous experience because it was aware of the trouble and problems of the people.

“The state of emergency has been declared in the KMC and all medical and paramedic staff is available in the hospitals with the provision of medicines and other necessary medical apparatus in adequate quantity.”

The administrator said the KMC had completed all such arrangements which were considered essential for providing medical treatment to patients suffering from heat stroke and anything required in emergency had also been available.

Meanwhile, the KMC and the DMCs have setup 40 emergency medical centres in the city to provide immediate medical aid and treatment to heat stroke patients.

The KMC has allocated 178 beds whereas 50 beds given by the DMCs in 40 medical centres, out of which 50 beds were given in the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, 10 beds in Gazdarabad Hospital, 15 in the Landhi Medical Complex, 20 in the SRS Hospital 20 beds, 25 in the Leprosy Hospital, 12 in the Spencer Eye Hospital, 5 in the CEC Shah Faisal Colony, 6 in the CEC Landhi, 10 in the KIHD, 5 in the Homeopathic Hospital, 6 in the Gizri Maternity Hospital, 14 in the Sobhraj Maternity Hospital and the PHCC Lyari.  The DMCs have also allocated beds in the medical centres located in their  remit which include the Soldier Bazar Maternity Hospital, the Sindhi Muslim MCH Centre, the Miran Pir Maternity Home, the ED Dispensary, the ESN Maternity Home, the Mehmoodabad Dispensary, the Liaquatabad Maternity Home, the Staff Clinic Liaquatabad No4, the Manghopir Maternity Home, the Old Golimar Dispensary, the Hasrat Mohani Maternity Home, the Orangi Maternity Home, the RCH Manghopir Maternity Home, the Razzaqab Maternity Home, the Aso Goth Maternity Home, the Korangi Maternity Home, the Landhi Maternity Home, the Liaquat Market Maternity Home, the Model Colony Maternity Home, the KDA Poly Clinic Civic the Centre, the Alrazi Dispensary, the Khuaja Gharib Nawaz Dispensary, the Asifabad Dispensary, the Rashidabad Dispensary, the Goharabad Dispensaryu Gulberg and the Umer Khan Dispensary New Karachi.
