ISLAMABAD: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has recommended to the Gilgit-Baltistan government to establish its public service commission.
The proposal was given in the annual report for 2022, compiled by the FPSC, which the commission has presented to President Dr Arif Alvi. Now this report will be presented in parliament.
It covers the tasks executed by the FPSC from January to December 2022. The report said that the FPSC has a heavy workload of recruitment for federal government ministries and divisions. It was also facing a shortage of staff, but it was doing additional recruitment work for Gilgit-Baltistan. It would be appropriate for the Gilgit-Baltistan government to establish its public service commission.
During 2022, as many as 298,980 applications were received for general recruitment and 2,293 candidates were recommended for appointment. It conducted 11 tests for regularisation of employees, recruited in various ministries and divisions. The FPSC also furnished suggestions to improve the quality of recruitment to the posts of Grade-16 and above in federal ministries and departments.
