Immigrants can’t cast vote in elections: Achakzai
QUETTA: Caretaker Minister for Information Jan Achakzai has said the acts of terrorism intensified after Taliban administration took control in Afghanistan.
Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Monday, he said that after the incident of 9/11 Pakistan supported Afghanistan, adding that Pakistan had always prioritised Afghanistan in foreign affairs. He said that hostile forces used Afghan immigrants to carry out terror acts in the host country.
He said that immigrants are not allowed to cast votes in elections. Jan Achakzai said that good news will come soon regarding Afghan Transit Trade. He said in past Afghan soil had been used for carrying out terrorist acts in Pakistan and the hired soldiers have been exposed. He asked Afghan government to hand over terrorists who damaged Pakistan and who have havens and present in Afghanistan.
Achakzai said that one lakh and 70 thousand out of two lakh and 50 thousand fake ID cards have been blocked. He said that work is in progress to eliminate bogus ID cards. He condemned attack on police station in Iran and said that terrorists are the enemy of both countries.
While replying a question, Achakzai said that political parties are staging sit-ins as an election campaign and running electoral campaign is right of every political party. He said that district administration allows political parties to hold rallies and meetings and this is an administrative issue.
Demanding the authorities of Afghan interim government to hand over all terrorists involved in terrorist acts in Pakistan, he said terrorist incidents intensified after Taliban administration took control in Afghanistan. He said that election in Pakistan would not be let to be sabotaged.
