Polio team attacked in Bajaur

KHAR: Unidentified gunmen attacked a team of anti-polio vaccination in Bajezo Banda Dabar in Mamond tehsil in Bajaur tribal district on Monday.

A police official said no casualty was reported in the attack as the cops escorting the team returned the fire, forcing the attackers to flee the scene.

A polio campaign officer Abdul Wahid confirmed the incident while talking to the reporters.

He said an anti-polio team was returning from the duty at 3:45pm when it came under attack at the Bajezo Banda Dabar in Mamond tehsil.However, he said that all members of the team remained safe.The police registered a case and started an investigation.
