LAKKI MARWAT: Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Dr Riaz Anwar on Saturday urged the ulema to create awareness about the crippling polio disease “Polio is a dangerous disease and the whole family suffers when a child is hit by the virus,” he told the ulema conference in Bannu.
He urged the ulema to come forward and play a proactive role in elimination of polio-virus and safeguarding the children from lifelong disability.
He said Pakistan with the help of global partners was fighting the disease and the concerted efforts by all stakeholders would help to eliminate the polio-virus completely. The health department with collaboration of the emergency operation centre had arranged the conference to gain maximum support of religious scholars against the crippling disease.
