English Speaking Union elects president

Islamabad: The English Speaking Union (ESU) (Islamabad chapter) elected Khalid Malik as its president for three-year terms unanimously, says a press release.

The founder president of ESU (Islamabad) was Begum Viqar-un-Nisa Noon, wife of the former prime minister of Pakistan. The second president was Brig (r) Sadiq Awan (former federal minister of commerce). Maj. Gen. Ali Masood Akram, former ambassador to Morocco was the third president of ESU (Islamabad Chapter).

Khalid Malik was a student of Gordon College, Rawalpindi, graduated from Punjab university. He is also chairman of PakJapan Friendship Forum. Managing Director of group of companies. He studied in the business school of Administration in the University of California, Berkely. He did advance Management from the university of Pittsburg, USA.

On the scholarship of Swedish Govt. He did his international top Management in the field of quality management in Sweden (IFL), Swedish Institute of Management. He also attended a training course in Tokyo Japan on workers motivation for higher productivity arranged by Asian productivity organisation. Khalid Malik was proposed by Wazir Ahmed Jogizai, former federal minister and deputy speaker national assembly along with Zia ur Rehman Zabeeh. He was seconded by Abid Ali, former chief secretary AJK and Syed Asif Shah, former federal secretary.

He was also supported by Ambassador Aftab Hussain Syed, Mailk Tahir Sarfraz, former federal secretary. Ambassador Arif Ayub, Ambassador Fozia Nasreen, Ambassador Naila Chohan, Safia Agha and Hasnaat Qureshi. All members of ESU congratulated him on his re-election including Anwar Saifullah Khan, member of ESU and former federal minister.
