Treet Group of Companies
Treet Group is one of the oldest and largest business groups of Pakistan. The business history of the group dates back to pre-independence days, almost a century ago, when a highly dynamic personality of Sir Syed Maratib Ali expanded his agri business into trading and industrial partnerships. This expansion saw no bounds and soon after the ‘Divide’ in 1947, new business opportunities were successfully explored in the fields of Textile, Automobiles, Trucks and Tractors, Soap, Ghee and shaving blades manufacturing. This progressive journey also saw the transition from manufacturing conventional Double Edge Shaving Blades to modern age Bonded Razors in Pakistan. Treet was among the first ten companies in Pakistan to obtain ISO 9001:2008 certification back in 1997 due to higher standards in quality management, stringent quality policy and outstanding controls. This is the reason we export our products to over 40 countries around the world including China, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Canada and USA to name a few.
Companies within the group are strategic business units that are semi-autonomous units responsible for their own budgeting, new product/market decisions and new venture exploration and pricing. They are treated as internal profit centers by the corporate headquarter i.e. Treet Corporation Limited, the parent company. Each SBU is responsible for developing its business strategies independently from the other businesses but these must be in tune with the broader corporate strategies. Corporate strategy (by the parent company) seeks to develop synergies by sharing and coordinating staff and other resources across business units, investing financial resources across business units, and using business units to complement other corporate business activities.
At present Treet Group is involved in manufacturing, marketing and selling of Shaving double edge blades, disposable razors, soaps and corrugated cartons. We also assemble motorcycles, are involved in trading and merchandising of products as sole buyers and/or agents/distributors. Treet Group of companies floats and controls its Modarabas as well.
As part of our diversification policy, we have two projects in the making. One is setting up a state of the art “University of Culture and Art”. The building of the proposed university is in its final stage on Raiwind road and will be ready by July 2016. The application for NOC of the charter has been forwarded to Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Islamabad and the charter application has been forwarded to Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) here in Lahore. Hopefully we will be able to get the NOC well in time for Fall semester 2016 intake.
Our second project is importing, manufacturing and selling of Maintenance Free (MF), Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) and regular Lead Acid Batteries under license agreement with Daewoo International. We hope to see this project up and running by May 2017.***
