Dear Editor,
I am a sports buff and my complaint is that I seldom find an article on sports. I understand that the dismal performance of Pakistan in the recent past probably deterred writers from writing on sports but the recent performance of our national cricket team has been rather good. However, I didn’t find a single article on cricket. I miss ‘Ground Reality’ very much and hope to see it soon.

Hi Ed,
I have been waiting for the 34th instalment of ‘The Eid Engagement and Other Weddings’ for so many weeks! I hope to see a real good episode before Eid. The story has now captured my attention to the extent that I have started thinking about what Iqra should come up with next! Also, I am hoping to see more interaction between Hina and Sameer. I hope the next episode is big and enjoyable, with a couple of light tiffs between Hina and her new sister-in-law thrown into the mix. Waiting to see if friendship will survive between the new sisters-in-law. Great work, Iqra. I wish you great success!

Hey Ed,
I love ‘Diaries from a Small Island’ by Muhammad Asif Nawaz; it’s a fantastic diary and very nattily penned, but Asif Nawaz has always been an exceptionally good writer. I am also enjoying Iqra Asad’s ‘The Eid Engagement and Other Weddings’. I am also glad to note that ‘The Green Room’ is back on a regular basis. All in all, the magazine is doing well.

Dear Editor,
I haven’t read a book review in Us for a while. I think you should do a page on books every month. It can be a review or some info about books that become popular among young people like me. In the issue of April 1, I loved all the poems that won the gold, silver, bronze and consolation medals. I think now it is time for a story-writing competition.

Narrated Anas bin Malik (R.A):
Allah’s Apostle (S.A.W) never proceeded (for the prayer) on the Day of ‘Id-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates. Anas also narrated: The Prophet used to eat odd number of dates.

Narrated Aisha (R.A):
Abu Bakr (R.A) came to my house while two small Ansari girls were singing beside me the stories of the Ansar concerning the Day of Buath. And they were not singers. Abu Bakr said protestingly, “Musical instruments of Satan in the house of Allah’s Apostle (S.A.W)!” It happened on the ‘Id day and Allah’s Apostle said, “O Abu Bakr! There is an ‘Id for every nation and this is our ‘Id.”
