The air was brimming with fervent activity as one stepped into the freshly created set up,  unleashing creativity at the recently held fashion show in Doha, Qatar. The show was wonderfully orchestrated and with the royal family present there, it seemed as if one was attending a savvy international affair. Ana Ali of Lajwanti Couture and designer, Ali Xeeshan showcased their exclusive collections amidst a bevy of international media and other designers. Ana Ali is known for her dramatic outfits, which are largely inspired by the culture of Pakistan along with western silhouettes oozing pure luxury.Striking silhouettes

The venue was as striking as the collections by these two talented designers representing Pakistan for the Royal family of Qatar. The skilfully constructed premise depicted natural surroundings with fountains and ponds spilling through transparent glass around the ramp. “We created fusion dresses for the Qatari audience, hence a lot of our dresses were long length trailing gowns and floor skimming ensembles to attract foreigners,” said Ana.

However, it was Ana that stole the show. She outdid herself with a thoroughly researched range of gowns in ivory and beige that sparked fireworks as soon as the models sashayed the ramp. For her collection she used Swarovski crystal, diamantes and embellished net and trimmings on the dupattas. The creations had an earthy colour burst, and she didn’t shy away from adding a pop of colour or modern twists to her designs. “My collection ‘Majestic Attire’ endeavoured to capture the splendour of our heritage as a perfect source of inspiration,” she shared. The sophisticated draping and artistic details made it look ultra feminine, yet having a strong statement.

The not-to-be missed accessories included clutches, neck and head pieces exclusively designed to add an element of flamboyance. “We were inundated by orders from the locals and our show was highlighted and appreciated by the audience for its unique colour combinations and embellishments - it was a blend of both worlds,” added Ana.

The two decade old Lajwanti Couture by Ana Ali who also runs a multi brand store, Tehzeeb in Lahore, also plans to open a home store, ‘Homes by Ana Ali’, in the near future. Way to go girl! We wish you all the best for your future endeavours.
